Assisting students with unique abilities

 

Within a safe environment, children need love, understanding, a sense of belonging, and opportunities for achievement. These needs must be met both at home and at school. Not every student has an equal opportunity to receive the same positive inclusion. As a result, it may be difficult to adjust to family, school, and social expectations or demands.

 

There are schools that have not been able to meet the needs of all children within the four walls of their institutions. If you need an alternative choice for educating your children, Murl Windsor Academy is ready to service your family.

MWA offers a robust life skills program, including:

  • Following simple directions

  • Repeating and summarizing what is said

  • Recognizing and recalling details & sequence

  • Active listening

  • Giving and receiving feedback

  • Cause and effect and predicting outcomes

  • Identifying relevant information

  • Recognizing emotional language

  • Conflict resolution

  • Ground listening (tuning out sounds)

MWA assists with cognitive development:

These mental skills are used in the process of 

acquiring knowledge and allow students to:

 

  • Learn, store and recall information at the 

  • appropriate times

  • Pay attention when necessary 

  • Filter out distractions make educated decisions  

  • See other perspectives which allow for compromise 

  • Help manage anxiety and stabilize mood 

  • Govern organizational skills, task management and prioritizing 

  • Develop reasoning, perception and intuition
